    free hosting services
I pay for hosting of my html pages now but have pages I want to "live forever" after my death.
I had put them up on a free service but later couldn't find them when I used Google. Then I found out that most free hosts cause the pages to not be url search friendly.
Is there a service that doesn't have that problem?
(My page has #1 ranking on Google for the right search words)

Only things that comes to mind off the top of my head would be:

    - Facebook pages that are public access
    - Forums that have a "personal" area
    - Google+ page on an account that's public
    - Maybe Wordpress

OK but I need something that will be searchable in Google. I have a wordpress blog that I can upload my spreadsheets to but the instructions for use are html pages that contain graphics.

So you add metadata and keywords that would apply to the instructions that are shows in the graphics... Basic SEO stuff, I would imagine.

but wordpress isn't html. Whatever I do with those spreadsheets and instruction pages I need to have Google display their url when someone searches with the appropriate words. The html pages of instructions are both words and graphics. They tell how to use the spreadsheets. I need Google to know where those instructions are. Right now my paid pages have high rankings in Google. But I have heart problems and I don't know how much longer I'll be around. I die, my ex drains my account, the paid pages go down after so many months. then comes the importance of the new site at some free hosting service that is Google friendly.

All web sites are HTML. Wordpress is a CMS so that you don't -have- to edit HTML directly. You still have the opportunity to add HTML content into the pages, but you need to do it "behind the scenes".

all websites are not HTML. The beginning of each page specifies the language of the page (html, java, etc).

    That isn't what I meant...

They are absolutely ALL HTML when it comes to what is transferred from the server to the client. What happens to generate the HTML content on the server side varies from static HTML to dynamic scripting services like PHP, .NET, ASP, java, etc.

With Wordpress, you can enter 'raw HTML' content directly into the pages when you edit them. Different versions will have you do this different ways.

Free hosting sites have lots of restrictions on them. Plus the permalinks won't look good. Like if you go through wordpress.com it will show your site as www.yoursite.wordpress.com which looks ugly HostGator you can host for like $3 a month.

    Oh...

One other thing I forgot to mention in my previous post.

The problem with a lot of hosting sites that use products like Wordpress is that the URLs themselves are not search engine friendly. You have to enable a particular control in the site to create search-friendly URLs and not all providers allow this.

    http://host.domain.tld/path/to/index.html is search friendly.

    http://host.domain.tld/index.php?page=17 is not.

One thing to consider if you are attempting to build a perpetual website, what we call a "tomb" is that search engines and IP addressing will change over the coming years and your google status, if there even is such a thing 25 years from now, will wash away with the sands of time.

its very hard to find that sort of free hosting to meet your requirements in a way..
but in my point of view, you should go for:
    1) Facebook Fan Page
    2) Google+ Page
    3) Tumblr blog
    4) Google's Blogger Blog (yourname.blogspot.com)
    5) Wordpress.com blog
    6) wikipedia bio page
    7) forums
I hope these services will never ever let your bio/info down till they live on internet.
    Cheers

I think you should find some solution to add your HTML to a free blog platform . Wordpress is good, convert from HTML to Theme is not difficult. If all done, finally, you can add your personal domain with your 1# rank to new free blog forever. Good luck!

From my personal experience I can say that free hosting is not a good idea. Loading speed is very slow and most of the time your site remain down. Better to go for a paid hosting.
