Hello,

I have setup my Server 10.5 on my Powermac recently..

Apache 2.2.17/DAV/PHP 5.2.15

So on my site I have it running fine from the Server Admin UI.. the site located in /Library/WebServer/Documents

I wanted to allow indexing on another drive for easy access to files..

So.. from the Server Admin UI I clicked the "folder listings" and the "Allow all overrides" options

Then went into the Aliases tab and setup a URL Aliases to access another partition drive.. lets call it /Volumes/Web and the pattern being /files

So if a user types in website.com/files it will direct them to the /Volumes/Web partition and allow them to see and download files in the Apache index format..

HOWEVER.. what I get when the address is typed in is 403 error and a "directory index forbidden" error log

I have tried adding a .htaccess file to the Web drive with the options +Indexes and no luck.. tried the same thing with https.conf with no luck

However, I did have success when I edited the /etc/apache2/sites/site.conf and virtual host.conf files..

HOWEVER... If I go back in and edit things in the Server Admin UI for the web server.. it removes all my edited settings in the .conf files.. leaving back where I started...

Does anyone have an idea on how to fix this!?

Thanks
