I can not find a mechanical keyboard with a Mac layout and wireless. I'd also like backlighting, but can live without it.

Anybody know of one?

Thanks
Jim

I've got the Matias Quiet Pro keyboard, it's mechanical, full size and meant for Mac. It is not wireless though and has no lighting. Matias does make wireless keyboards, but they are not mechanical, rather aluminum and have the backlighting.

+1 for Matias, but wired only I believe as mentioned.

Try another search such as:

Thanks Patrick. The Azio would be great, but the amazon reviews seem to indicate that it has bad bluetooth connectivity. Too bad.

Hmmm…??? That's odd, I didn't notice any such negative moments, at least not at the site I posted.

But regardless, they may have problems that you don't. Besides I'm sure it's returnable as most amazon purchases are.

Well, I went through this search about six months ago, and decided on the Azio, then I saw the comments on Amazon. Maybe they have scrolled far down....

I notice there are not a lot of replies about mechanical mac keyboards.... Anyone have enough money to start a keyboard factory?

For the small handful of folks who need these keyboards, the current crop of keyboard manufacturers are totally fine. There is absolutely no gaping hole you'd fill with a new manufacturer.

Personally, I find it hard to believe that a good typist can't find a Matias keyboard that would work well for them. And why your insistence of it being wireless???

And as for any bad comments on the Azio wireless keyboard, I stll don't see many and one who thought the touch was a bit on the heavy side.

I'm not a good typist at all, but I'll take my aluminum Apple wired extended keyboard anytime thanks.

Oh well…. good luck with any search and choice you make…

Good point by Patrick.

OP: You're not going to find a mechanical keyboard that's wireless. There are several manufacturers who make mechanical keyboards and I believe you already have been given who they are. One more that wasn't mentioned is "Macally". They used to make a nice mechanical keyboard similiar to the old IBM keyboards but not wireless.

Several of the Matias keyboards mentioned also have a built in USB 2 hub (2 or 3 ports) which is handy for attaching a mouse or printer.
