Working from home and trying to create a universal desk solution. My wife has a 2013 MBP with TB2 and USB 3.0 ports. We also have a Dell laptop and Surface Pro with USB 3 ports.
I know TB2 is not compatible with USB like TB3 is, so I'm hoping a dock with USB 3 can work for all three devices. The dock is used to mainly connect a display, keyboard/mouse, and speakers. I assume anything connecting via USB like a keyboard/mouse receiver will be fine, but have no clue if the MBP will connect with the display and speakers through the dock since it has TB2 and HDMI for that. I'm pretty sure windows will do this since its pretty much the only way to dock with the Surface Pro.
If anyone has any experience connecting a 2013 Mac with a dock via USB 3 and can lend me your knowledge I would really appreciate it.
Thanks!
