My 2010 MacBook Pro got a battery/trackpad issue so I am using hubby's newer MacBook Air. Last night it made the kind of beeping sound I expect when the battery is running low - BUT it's plugged in. Same thing again this morning! What's that? It did it several times when I first woke it up but hasn't done it again in the last half hour I'v been using it.

In my experience Apple laptops don't beep when power gets low (unless this is a new feature).
Make sure there's no appointments or calendar "things" or alarms setup. Since this is your husband's computer…maybe check with him (if you haven't already).
