I am not excited about the rumored demise of the standard USB port. I know Apple looks at the USB port as old tech but I use them a lot. So my choice is to upgrade my devices or use adapters I hopefully won't loose. We shall see...

I would be, if there was a sliver of a chance Apple could bring the 17" back, and with Retina / 4K display ...

What are you specifically excited about Steve? And just to be sure...are you excited about a new "MacBook" model...or a new "MacBook Pro" model?

I am under the understanding that the MBP will under the same design profile "so to speak" as the new macbook, but with a 13 and 15" screen size. I will carry more HP under the hood to. From what I have been reading, the normal MB 12" bogs down when doing video and photo editing duties. I am hoping that they come in the 4 or 5 phone colours, as I want a space grey 13" to match my iPhone 6s and my iPad air 2. I am also under the understanding that they will keep at least one regular usb port. So, i am looking for an 8gb ram, 1tb storage and a computing system that won't bog down doing video and photo editing as well as music creation. I am getting into that as well. I want to be able to use my computer to record instruments etc in my music room.

Lots of hopes Steve. The new MacBook Pros are supposedly thinner and lighter than previous models and will likely be standard with more memory and larger standard flash storage. I wouldn't get my hopes up too high for 1TB of flash storage since that probably will be optional and expensive. The USB port will be the newer "C" type port found on the current retina MacBooks and according to MacRumors there will be three. No idea yet what graphics will be available but if we look at the progression of graphics chips in Apple computers, the graphic chipsets will be more powerful than previous models. Start saving your pennies. ;D

The one thing I'm mostly excited to see (if true) is the new rumored OLED programmable function key bar/function key row.:)

No problems saving my "pennies" I am a business owner and make enough to "splurge" on a new macbook pro. Plus, it's a write off ha ha. As long as the 1tb is an option….that box will be ticked! I was going back and forth on the air and standard macbook. But if the new pro has the same form factor, it will be the one I order. The other question to be raised is, will they cut the air line, and make like a 14" macbook. have a 12 and 14" macbook, and then the 13/15 macbook pro. That would make things even more difficult. Go up an inch in screen size……my favourite Windows based notebook I have owned and used was my timeline 4810T. It was super fast (until windows 10), and had a great screen size.
