Which iPad for travel

I travel a lot for work.
I have to bring my work Lenovo laptop but cannot also carry my 13" Macbook Pro as it is just too much hardware.

I work a lot in Photos on my Macbook Pro on various projects which screech to a halt when traveling.

Am considering an iPad (I already have a very early-generation Mini).

However, there are just so many current iPads to choose from.

Any advice if working on photo projects (not editing but creating books and so on).

For a true laptop replacement edition, it'd have to be iPad Pro which has all the power. However, you might want to actually try your workflow on an iPad to see if it works. Since Apple has a 14 day return period, I'd grab the iPad edition that fits your budget and try it out and if it doesn't work, then just return it.
