Well if you have tried all we have suggested I am stumped! If you ever figure it out please post how you fixed it because inquiring minds would love to know.

What possible app have you added since this started? It looks like something is causing the apps to load.

If you run Etrecheck, one of the sections shows recently installed applications.

Catalina would not be the issue. OR at least the ones I have done had no issues. Run Etrecheck as Jake suggests. Post back the results.

It is in a section toward the bottom of the saved report. It's a section titled "Software Installs (past 30 days)"

another thing I found on desktop after updating OS X 10.15.5 so I copied and pasted below

During the last macOS upgrade or file migration, some of your files couldn’t be moved to their new locations. This folder contains these files.
Configuration files
These configuration files were modified or customized by you, by another user, or by an app. The modifications are incompatible with the recent macOS upgrade. The modified files are in the Configuration folder, organized in subfolders named for their original locations.
To restore any of the custom configurations, compare your modifications with the configuration changes made during the macOS upgrade and combine them when possible.

I didn't ask, Lisa did, but I don't see anything in the recently installed list that looks like a candidate for being the problem.

Where did the list in post #22 come from? Are those the windows that are opening up? I thought they were apps opening but everything on that list is Finder.

How do you close apps? I ask because just clicking the X in the window does not quit the app, just pushes it into the background. That means it is running when you shut down so if your settings are to re-open what was running, even though you cannot see it, it is running and will restart.

And can you say exatly what is opening? You listed a couple but I haven't seen a list of what we are talking about. Thanks!
