I use Apple's iCal and schedule an alarm appointment for each event/reminder. What's nice about that is iCal will have a pop-up alarm dialog along with an alert sound that shows up on top of any application I have opened. This way I don't miss any important reminders when working on my computer. Also since iCal syncs easily with my iPhone the alert reminders will also pop-up there as well. It's great for when I'm away from my computer. I can also create new events/reminders on my iPhone which then syncs to my computer. This will work with the iPod Touch as well if you don't have an iPhone. I can't live without this feature. ;)
