Hello
I've bought MacBook Air. It has 2 USB-C ports. I am looking for Ethernet to USB-C adapter which should power laptop at the same time.
In other words one port should remain available and MacBook has Ethernet and power.
It could be a Hub which has other ports like USB, HDMI and etc but it should charge MacBook while providing Ethernet.
Could someone recommend?
Thanks

I have a hub similar to this one. The one I have is currently unavailable but there are many others out there. The price varies depending upon the number of ports available.

Look at the specs carefully. Some of these hubs support charging through the hub and some do not.

You don't want an adapter, that is a a single function thing, i.e., USB-C to Ethernet means you will have Ethernet access over that port, but nothing else. USB-C to HDMI means you will have video/audio output and nothing else.

As Slydude suggested, you want a USB-C hub that will charge your MBA while also extending that port to give you access to multiple USB-C, USB-A and HDMI ports along with SD/miniSD as well.

So look for hubs that fit your budget and go with the ones with the best rating. Satechi makes a good number of hubs that are fairly affordable.

Thanks for explanation
Last one …. please confirm that I understood correctly:
1. The Hub will have USB-C male end and I will insert it into MacBook
2. One of the port will be Ethernet and some other ports as well and all are female
3. While Ethernet cable is connected it also charges my MacBook and no need to use additional power cable. Hence one of MacBook USB-C port remains available
In case my assumptions are correct I could search on Amazon something that looks reasonable for me e.g. this one:

1. Yes. The maile end plugs directly into the MacBook.
2. Yes
3. When you want to use the power adapter you will need to plug it into one of the ports on the MacBook or plug it into one of the USB C ports on the hub,

Unless I misread the specs that hub will do what you want.

Well … regarding item 3.
sorry but it’s still not clear to me: I want to keep one MacBook USB-C port available but how power will be provided to laptop? Should I have additional power supply? Maybe this power supply (cable with adapter) should be inserted into USB-C port on the Hub and the other end of cable goes into socket?
My last and only concern is that I want to keep MacBook port available and laptop charging
Thanks

I didn't read the specs for all of the hubs but the first one says
"The USB-C to PD port can charge most host computers (USB-C compatible)"
If I understood that correctly you should be able to do the following:
1. Plug the hub into the computer through a USB port on the computer.
2. Plug the power cord into one of the USB C ports on the hub.

That leaves one free USB C port on the hub and one on the computer.

Professor? I like that. My wife would probably disagree with you, though. :)

Seriously though, glad that dorted things out for you.
