I have the 500 gb Time Capsule. Following set-up I had regular backups, but I just noticed that I can no longer enter Time Machine and I keep getting messages that Time Machine is "preparing backup" but it never stops preparing. When I stop it manually, it says, "stopping backup," but never ends with this. I read somewhere that I should select not to have the hard drive be able to go to sleep to save energy. I tried that and at least got passed the "preparing" stage. I started the backup last night and it still says, "connecting to backup volume" though. Machine preferences "change disk" it indicates that there are two disks to choose from. One has a name slightly different from what it should be and indicates the size of the backup and the other appears to have the exact name but no size. When I click on either of them, it links me to the correctly named Time Machine and even if I try to re-setup the Time Machine they are both there. Please help if you can. Below are the messages from the console (I don't really know what it all means). 2/11/09 10:56:54 AM /System/Library/CoreServices/backupd[2381] Failed to mount disk image /Volumes/Time Capsule/XXX iMac_0022411ea5b7.sparsebundle (DIHLDiskImageAttach returned: 109) 2/11/09 10:56:54 AM /System/Library/CoreServices/backupd[2381] Waiting 60 seconds and trying again. 2/11/09 10:56:54 AM /System/Library/CoreServices/backupd[2381] Ejected Time Machine network volume. 2/11/09 10:57:54 AM /System/Library/CoreServices/backupd[2381] Network mountpoint /Volumes/Time Capsule-1 not owned by backupd... remounting 2/11/09 10:57:54 AM /System/Library/CoreServices/backupd[2381] Network volume mounted at: /Volumes/Time Capsule 2/11/09 10:57:54 AM /System/Library/CoreServices/backupd[2381] Backup requested due to disk attach 2/11/09 1:03:20 PM /System/Library/CoreServices/backupd[2381] Failed to mount disk image /Volumes/Time Capsule/XXX iMac_0022411ea5b7.sparsebundle (DIHLDiskImageAttach returned: 109) 2/11/09 1:03:20 PM /System/Library/CoreServices/backupd[2381] Waiting 60 seconds and trying again. 2/11/09 1:03:20 PM /System/Library/CoreServices/backupd[2381] Ejected Time Machine network volume. 2/11/09 1:04:20 PM /System/Library/CoreServices/backupd[2381] Network mountpoint /Volumes/Time Capsule-1 not owned by backupd... remounting 2/11/09 1:04:20 PM /System/Library/CoreServices/backupd[2381] Network volume mounted at: /Volumes/Time Capsule 2/11/09 1:04:20 PM /System/Library/CoreServices/backupd[2381] Backup requested due to disk attach 2/11/09 2:58:21 PM /System/Library/CoreServices/backupd[2381] Failed to mount disk image /Volumes/Time Capsule/XXX iMac_0022411ea5b7.sparsebundle (DIHLDiskImageAttach returned: 109) 2/11/09 2:58:21 PM /System/Library/CoreServices/backupd[2381] Giving up after 3 retries. 2/11/09 2:58:21 PM /System/Library/CoreServices/backupd[2381] Network volume mounted at: /Volumes/Time Capsule 2/11/09 6:34:38 PM /System/Library/CoreServices/backupd[2381] Failed to mount disk image /Volumes/Time Capsule/XXX iMac_0022411ea5b7.sparsebundle (DIHLDiskImageAttach returned: 109) 2/11/09 6:34:38 PM /System/Library/CoreServices/backupd[2381] Waiting 60 seconds and trying again. 2/11/09 6:34:46 PM /System/Library/CoreServices/backupd[2381] Ejected Time Machine network volume. 2/11/09 6:35:51 PM /System/Library/CoreServices/backupd[2381] Backup failed with error: 17 2/11/09 10:02:09 PM /System/Library/CoreServices/backupd[3623] Told to rescan. 2/11/09 10:04:09 PM /System/Library/CoreServices/backupd[3623] Backup requested by user 2/11/09 10:04:09 PM /System/Library/CoreServices/backupd[3623] Starting standard backup 2/11/09 10:04:09 PM /System/Library/CoreServices/backupd[3623] Network mountpoint /Volumes/Time Capsule-1 not owned by backupd... remounting 2/11/09 10:04:09 PM /System/Library/CoreServices/backupd[3623] Network volume mounted at: /Volumes/Time Capsule 2/11/09 10:04:09 PM /System/Library/CoreServices/backupd[3623] Backup requested due to disk attach
