I believe I figured out what the issue is on my Macbook Pro. I got into the main drive (where you can see every file on the drive and I did this by right clicking on applications in a finder window and then selecting open enclosing folder). Then I looked through all of the different folders and I found that I don't have permission to even view many of them. So to fix it I select the folder and right click on it and select get info. Then I scroll to the bottom of that window, click the lock (and I removed my password to make it faster and there are so many folders for me it has saved me tons of time) to allow me to change the settings and then under sharing and permissions it shows "system" (who has read and write capabilities) and then "everyone" (No Access). Then click on the drop down menu for my permissions and select read and write then close the window. I haven't completed every folder yet and I may not get done with it till tomorrow, but it seems to be working (I was able to backup 14 KB instead of 6KB). I will post later if it ended up working or not. If anyone has a better way of changing all of these permissions, please post a reply. I hope this helps.
