I reviewed all the documents you recommended, found no problems, and acted per the Full Reset document. After reviewing the documents, I should point out that in doing so many backups over the last several weeks, there was never an error message of any sort. Then I did the full reset of Time Machine: Deleted the Library/Preferences/com.apple.TimeMachine.plist Then I did a backup with the following results. Note that it did two backups within the one backup. Overall elapsed time = 35 minutes. First Backup Item count = 8,147 Backup size = 27.08 GB Second Backup Item count = 7,830 Backup size = 4.1 MB It used the last 7 minutes of the 35 minutes to do "Finishing" and "Cleaning Up" steps. ~~~~~ I then changed a word document -- and nothing else. Two minutes later I initiated a Time Machine backup. This backup took a total elapsed time of 17 minutes. It also did two backups within the one backup. First Backup Item count = 7,840 Backup size = 161.1 MB Second Backup Item count = 7,829 Backup size = No size was specified. This is a first in this process. It used the last 3 minutes of the 17 minutes to do "Finishing" and "Cleaning Up" steps. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Please accept my Thank You for applying your effort and experience to help me resolve little problem!
