If you're referring to the Apple Thunderbolt display, probably not. As you may already know, Apple is no longer producing those displays and instead is advertising the new LG 5K display in their on line store. That display (the LG) would likely be compatible with Intel NUC.

The NUC specs list Mini Display port for graphics, and thunderbolt 3 as a peripheral port. Connecting the TB Display via the thunderbolt 3 port on the NUC won't work?

Thunderbolt 3 is compatible with Thunderbolt 2 and MiniDisplay Port via an adapter. Nothing is said about the original Thunderbolt display.
