If you're referring to the 2018 Mini, you're absolutely right! I spent extra $$ to get the higher-specs, and I am not disappointed. Compared with my earlier 2010 Mini, which I still use a lot, this thing is rocket ship.

The only negative I've observed so far is that it gets very hot when using high-demand games such as Call of Duty, even YouTube with intensive graphics, so don't leave USB or Thunderbolt (USB-C) items such as flash drives inserted in the rear section ports, eject them, or put them in a distant hub. I've employed a USB fan to accelerate cooling externally.

Looks nice. I’m running a July 2012 model, 16gb ram, 2x1tb drives internal. 1 SSD and 1 HDD. Multiple external drives and stuff. Mainly XCode and graphics work, as well as a web and mail server. It all runs ok, but I’m really pushing its limits now.
So seriously looking at getting one of the new ones. 256GB RAM. ! Wow, nice. i7, nice. SSD X2 nice... :)
I renewed the heatsink grease on the cpu a week or so ago. Not a single overheating problem now. Quiet, fast. Nice.

Agreed. The newest Mac-Mini (2018) has definitely been "beefed-up". If I was to get one...I would definitely get one of the 6-core models.:)

That will probably be our next Mac. We've been buying iMacs now for the last 8 years or so, but the new Mac Mini is really a great performer for the price. I'd like to match that up with a new Apple Display that will be announced this year (maybe). Rumor is Apple will have a replacement display - perhaps 32". Of note is the fact that Apple is no longer stocking the 27" 5K LG UltraFine displays.

Of course that's "sugarplums" in my head as I can imagine the price Apple will charge for a 5K 32" display. :goofy

And I imagine you were able to do so a lot better than the Apple assembler who managed this atrocious mess on a late 2018 MacBook Pro. I just tought I'd add it to make you feel really good: :Smirk:

OMG. This convinces me it’s almost a necessity to have it done pre-delivery! It does make a heck of a difference!
