System Preferences not showing up

Clicking on System preferences and I get the bouncing icon on the dock but nothing shows up on the screen. Little blue ball is under it but nothing shows up. Sorry I'm new to MAcs and not sure where to even start looking.

OK, figured it out. I was playing with out new LCD TV and had the Mac setup in dual display mode. My system preferences was on the other screen.
