Two thoughts: 1. The oldest iMac that can run Sierra is a Late 2009 iMac (a mid-2007 iMac is of course 2+ years older). When El Capitan came out...Mid-2007 iMac's barely met the requirements for El Capitan. In fact when El Capitan came out...Mid-2007 iMac's were the oldest iMac's that could run El Capitan. Thus this computer was riding a very thin tight-rope with El Capitan. 2. Do you REALLY need Sierra? If not...keep running your iMac with El Capitan. No need to run out and spend a bunch of bucks if not needed.:) But honestly. A 2007 iMac (9 years old) in a 2016 computing environment is pretty old. 9 years in "computer years" is like 350 "People Years".;) If not now...then in the near future...a newer computer would be a great idea.:) - Nick
