Hello all. Newb on the loose here. I just purchased my first Mac (PB) and I am loving it. This is my situation. I am a medical transcriber and I have to use my employer-supplied computer to do my work (PC)...boo hoo. On the up side, they have provided us a great program for shortcuts called Shorthand for Windows and I absolutely love it. It works in all programs and I want something like this for my PB. I have been reading about Spell Catcher for Mac, but I am not sure if this is what I really need. I would prefer to have a program that is simply a shorthand type of program (no real need for the spell check stuff). I am just really used to typing in an abbreviated style. Anyway, anyone know of such a program for Mac? Anyone used Spell Catcher that might provide some insight into that program? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Kimberly I actually e-mailed the folks at Shorthand for Windows and they recommended TypeIt4Me. I downloaded it and it is working great. I punched in my list of abbreviations that start with "a" already and so far so good. I just wish I could export the ones I have from my PC. Oh well, at least I don't have as many to input...don't need the medical abbreviations in my Mac. I wish I could make a keyboard shortcut or sidetrack tap to open up "Edit Entries" for that program. I have not been able to figure that out yet. If anyone has any ideas about that, once again, it would be much appreciated. Anyway, if anyone is looking for a fast shorthand program, TypeIt4Me is pretty good. I will update if/when I find any glitches.
