Some of these are just imho: 2. A firmware update updates your hardware... it is not a software update... once it has updated your hardware, it's updated no matter what you do to the hard drive 3. uhm, because all those other things were in the 10.6.2 update 4. If you don't know what scripts are, you probably don't need them. I have not setup any personal scripts on my MBP in 3 years. The ones you are talking about do not need to be manually run in Snow Leopard, the OS takes care of it. And at some point, you will want Onyx or MainMenu on your machine. 5. Who told you that? Set your preferences the way you want after you have some experience with your Mac. Everyone is different. This is not Windows. There is no blackviper.com with tutorials on turning off all those services that don't need to be running here. 6. Leave the languages alone. You can cause other apps not to run properly. The savings in space is not worth the possible consequences. 7. Open BootCamp Assistant found in Applications - Utilities and print the user guide... read it... and follow it. For the rest, time to do some of your own research and decide for yourself which route "you" want to use to run Windows. There are plenty of posts both here and all across the web with opinions ranging from one extreme to the other.
