I am only interested in the iPad for eReading purposes. It's not going to replace my cell phone nor my netbook. It 'could' replace my ereader. I already have an eink device (IRex Iliad) and a Windows netbook. I use both for reading pdf's. That's why I posted my question about reading pdf's. On the iLiad I flick a button, I get the next page in the pdf. On the netbook, I hit page down or scroll down with a mousewheel tick. Effortless movements. How can the iPad flip pages effortlessly? You mentioned it doesn't have physical buttons to do that. If it has buttons on the screens, I imagine they will take away valuable screen real estate. Every time I hear about a new device which can be used as an eReader, I ask the same question, how can one flip pages easily. The answer is usually, there's no easy one. I say, the designers are short sighted and know little about good user experience. The iLiad is a very good ereader and it came out at least 1 year before the Kindle (which is clunky in my opinion). The iLiad has a long accessible (no need to move hand from holding position) single button along the length of the device and one can EASILY (no matter how you hold the device) flick it one way or the other to go forward/backward through the pages. I don't use an iPhone or an iTouch so I am not familiar with "page left to turn the "page"' What is the hand movement to page left?
