[QUOTE="mniketas, post: 786620, member: 81649"] I have a fairly new iMac (2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo) and just attached an external hard-drive (Buffalo, 1TB, FireWire 800 connection). It seems to cause some general problems such as: - my mac won't restart when the hard drive is turned on (i.e., it seems to think it's some kind of boot device)... it hangs up on a white screen and only boots when I turn off the hard-drive - Firefox often locks up and won't launch (as soon as I turn off the hard-drive, it works fine) - Time Machine works sometimes, but often the back-ups hang up Thanks for any assistance.
