similar problem My USB HD works perfect when connected directly to the AEBS. When connected through a powered (Trust) hub it does show up and reading files seems to work well. But when trying to write files to the HD, the connection stalls. After that, the airport utility cannot access the setup anymore (error -6722) until a power reset (the WLAN continues functioning). So it seems the AEBS is kind of sensitive for the hub you use??
