I was put off by this at first to. But I said what the heck. I been playing World of Warcraft for years, its $49.99 each expansion and then another $14.95 per month to play it. At least Adobe only wants $9.99 a month for 2 extremely nice pieces of software that is installed on your machine and if you get the 1 year contract you are only required to connect to the internet once every 90 days to keep the software active.. At this point I have decided there are 3 types of people who have an issue with this service and wouldn't use it. 1) Those who have a working copy of CS6 or just have other software in their budget that does what they need. Or, 2) Those who wouldn't buy it anyway and are now just pissed they can not pirate it anymore and just want to make excuses why this purchaseing model isn't for them. And last, 3) Those who don't fully understand how Adobe has this setup and are just put off by the Cloud part of the name. Since in todays age, cloud is synonymous with "must use online." Which isn't the case at all. The way I see it Photoshop used to cost $800 USD, Lightroom is still offered at $150 USD. Thats $950 USD, if you divide that by 9.99 per month, it would take you 95 months to pay for this. Thats just under 8 years.. So if this model eliminates pirating so I can afford great software at a much much lower cost, so be it..
