Like with the online course i was doing, he was using a .v Xcode 2 versions back, which is 2 updates, and there was so many things different. You need to have the latest and look for the newest books, courses and so on. iTuneU has something from Stanford University School of Engineering that is good and it Developing Apps for iPhone and iPad (Winter 2013) CS193P. It well worth the look as its a full course start to end teaching you coding from Stanford. ?!?!?!
