My superdrive is not working and I installed a USB external cd drive. Can I boot from this drive with my OS 10.6.3 disk/ Need to repair disk or use disk Warrior.

M1 Mac Studio, 11" iPad Pro 3rd Gen, iPhone 13 Pro Max, Watch Series 7, AirPods Pro
If you connect the USB drive and insert the disk you want to start up from, you will then need to restart the Mac and hold down the "alt/option" or "C" button to get the option to start up from the disc you inserted.

That should work as long as the USB external cd drive is NOT the one from Apple meant only for the optical-less Mac models.!!!
