Guest login is disabled, I'm just concerned because my laptop is doing something erratic. It's funny because I've had this laptop since before the semester began, I don't think it's ever happened before (then again we could have just missed it). Alucard, my assumption is similar to yours. Something built in to OS X is seeking out visible domains and attempting to connect to them. I checked the console and system logs and couldn't find anything pertaining to a domain. The only strange thing I found during the approximate period of time that this occurred was Nov 3 09:50:48 lappy486 launchproxy[324]: /usr/sbin/smbd: getnameinfo(): Non-recoverable failure in name resolution Nov 3 09:50:48 lappy486 launchproxy[324]: /usr/sbin/smbd: getnameinfo(): Non-recoverable failure in name resolution I don't know what most of this means. Perhaps I'll just paste the entire log during the 15 minutes or so that it occurred.
