I'm a network admin and i had a user who had a Powerbook (i believe) running OS X (not sure what version) and i never had a problem with his computer. I never saw anything in the logs where it was trying to connect to the domain as a guest. The biggest problem we had with his machine was one day we were looking at our DHCP leases on the server and saw a weird computername (with lowercase and capital latters like a hacker) that was given a lease that didnt have our domain extension (computername.domainname.com). We found out it was his and we were ok with it. I can try to bring my wifes Macbook with me to work monday and look at our domain controller to see if it tries to connect. we have a windows 2000 server so im not sure if that will make a difference. I dont see why it would initiate unless some service was turned on on the Mac to auto discover domains and try to log on as guest. If no one has an answer over the weekend i will try to test it out on monday (given that my wife will let me borrow her Mac)
