Hello, Yesterday I experienced my first Kernel panic on my MacBook Pro (ref in signature) while I was turning it off. I didn't install anything new in the last days and didn't have anything plugged in usb. Since a few days, I also notice every now and then while the computer is on, a sound similar to the one it does when I turn it on (when you press the power button), the HD turning on maybe. I don't know if these events are related. I bought the laptop on March 7, 2008, meaning that it is still under warranty for a few weeks. Do you think I should bring it to an Apple store before it get worse? Kernel is copied here under. Thanks a lot for your help Sams Wed Feb 11 22:51:10 2009 panic(cpu 0 caller 0x001A9C68): Kernel trap at 0x00190e98, type 14=page fault, registers: CR0: 0x8001003b, CR2: 0x8b14ec83, CR3: 0x015bc000, CR4: 0x00000660 EAX: 0x04d7175c, EBX: 0x00000076, ECX: 0x04d7175d, EDX: 0x8b14ec83 CR2: 0x8b14ec83, EBP: 0x4770b9f8, ESI: 0x004bcc60, EDI: 0x045db720 EFL: 0x00010202, EIP: 0x00190e98, CS: 0x00000008, DS: 0x00000010 Error code: 0x00000000 Backtrace (CPU 0), Frame : Return Address (4 potential args on stack) 0x4770b818 : 0x12b4f3 (0x45b13c 0x4770b84c 0x1335e4 0x0) 0x4770b868 : 0x1a9c68 (0x464700 0x190e98 0xe 0x463eb0) 0x4770b948 : 0x1a038d (0x4770b960 0x0 0x4770b9f8 0x190e98) 0x4770b958 : 0x190e98 (0xe 0x48 0xb80010 0x530010) 0x4770b9f8 : 0xb5e7a9 (0x4d7175c 0x8b14ec83 0x4770ba48 0x1418d8) 0x4770ba28 : 0xb5e887 (0x4d71604 0x4d7175c 0x8 0x4c3f080) 0x4770ba48 : 0x215669 (0x0 0x4d71604 0x0 0x4c3f080) 0x4770ba88 : 0x216a95 (0x4b288a0 0x2 0xa 0x0) 0x4770bad8 : 0x47ba195b (0x4d71604 0x1 0xe 0x4d7175c) 0x4770bc58 : 0x47b9e83b (0x4b07380 0x4b07380 0x36d2de 0x0) 0x4770bc88 : 0x36d2f5 (0x4cd9404 0x3 0x44f38d0 0x0) 0x4770bcb8 : 0x3a5395 (0x4d17e58 0x4758c4a4 0x4770bce8 0x4cfbc94) 0x4770bcd8 : 0x3a6e0d (0x4d17e58 0x9 0x0 0x36dae2) 0x4770bd38 : 0x3a6fab (0x4d17e58 0x1 0x4770bd98 0x123794) 0x4770bd58 : 0x368add (0x4d17e58 0x4770bda8 0x0 0x0) 0x4770bdc8 : 0x368c29 (0x4cd70c0 0x4cd1b60 0x4cfbc3c 0x355f29) Backtrace continues...
