I've finally made my decision, it's been hard letting go of iPhoto but I have done it. Over the last couple of months I've been playing around in Lightroom and Aperture and have decided that Aperture is the one for me. The catch is, I only want to use Aperture for my photos, that is, the photos I'v been taking since I bought the DSLR. My iPhoto library has old photos (as Events) that I don't want to migrate across. Question is, how do I move/copy specific Events only?
