Mounting external monitor

I bought an external monitor for my 13 inch MBP and it will be wall mounted.
My question is on a 24" iMac what is the distance from the desk top to to the bottom of the monitor?

Surely you want the monitor at the correct hight for you, your desk and your chair, not some arbitrary figure that is generic. There are lots of good example this is just one.
