Hello, My Mac is the older Power Mac G4 (400 mhz) 100mhz system bus - with 3 PCI slots (at 33mhz). I have bought an external seagate harddrive (usb2.0 - firewire 400 - esata) - works beautifully - BUT firewire 400 is too slow for video editing I've found (films stutter - hobby/holiday) and it has eSATA capabilities. I need an eSATA PCI control card - with LaCie and Sonnet they are either for PCI-express slots OR say PCI must have 66 mhz. Example card would be the LaCie eSATA PCI Card mit 2 eSATA Ports Mac/PC - but 66mhz and I only have 33mzh PCI slots. Is there any eSATA (external SATA) that is backwards compatible to 33mhz or CAN I use a PCI express.....I'm pulling my hair out trying to figure out if something will work. Only other option would be a second internal but to go above 120GB would still need another PCI card..........and I stupidly cannot take my external back anymore - Any assistance appreciated! Oh external does not have firewire 800 which wolud have been an option I guess....IT PAYS TO THINK TWICE I'VE JUST FOUND OUT! Thanks!
