Mac 2008 to 2006 RAM compatability

Greetings all!

I have RAM from a 2008 Mac Quad :

and Im looking at buying a 2006 Mac (4 cores) :

Just wondering if the RAM from my 2008 will work in my 2006?

I've done alot of googling on this one and can't seem to find an answer so I'd really appreciate your help on this

G'day and welcome to the forums.

PC2-6400 down to PC2-5300. It may well work but of course at the slower speed.Generally best advice is buy the memory specified.
