Oh well, doesn't seem like people think the new Apps are anything to talk about . . . Now we are a few weeks in, i have to say that iWork across all devices is just Devine. I love how, especially Numbers and Pages look the same across all devices and makes for sharing so much easier and editing, so much more enjoyable. I really like where Apple went with this. Now Aperture. Version 3.5 brings a handful of new features to the OS X app, including iCloud Photo Sharing support that lets you access (or give access to) shared image or video streams. In addition to that, Aperture's Places feature now uses Apple Maps to pinpoint locations where photos are taken and with Apple Maps on the Mac now, this was a given really. The upgraded app can also recognize and support iOS 7 image filters, upload videos up to three minutes long to Flickr and sync with a SmugMug image hosting account. I am really liking the SmugMug uploads support now. I have just gone and go a account and its a great place to put all this great shots you like and put them up. Im not going to use it as a full on Back Up, but its a nice online place to keep the best of the best. I have read of complaints about not having 500px support, which is another High Quality site to host your images, but I'm sure someone will come up with a 500px plugin in no time at all. With all this, Apple fixed the Auto White Balance especially on skin tone and Grey areas, and a lot of other minor tweaks. This isn't a BIG update by any means, but there is enough here at the moment to keep us happy and you can see that they want to improve on Aperture. I have looked at LR and i just don't like it, and i can do what i need to do in Aperture so i will be hanging around for a while, but i would like to see Apple re-write Aperture, like they did with FCP X and give us a new look and new features that could bring it closer to the LR structure, but not enough to feel like it is :)
