Just a note, and not to contradict others here but my experience over the last 10 years with Macs and Kingston Ram. I have never once in any Mac I have owned ever had a Kingston stick that was the right specs for the Mac that ever once caused a crash or anything else. All my RAM is Kingston except this last older iMac due to I got a better deal from OWC. I normally would 100% Back OWC RAM and always will, but just stating that fact. I had issues though with Other off brands and bought a replacement Kingston stick and never one issue. Is the Kingston RAM's specs exactly what Apple says to use for that model iMac? You could have a bad stick but that brand has never let me down here.
