Lately, I've been having a lot of difficulty with my work iMac. Within minutes of booting up, I receive kernel panics, more frequently accompanied by screen glitches such as horizontal lines or holes in windows. Often I don't even make it past start-up, and I receive a kernel panic before I can login. I'm currently working in safe mode and everything seems to be running smoothly. No glitches, no kernel panics. No sign that the computer will immediately shut down. In fact, I'm thinking of simply working in safe mode from now on. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I've reinstalled the previous RAM we used (we've recently installed new RAM, and we thought that this may have been the problem), and I've run Apple Hardware Test. Both have not improved matters, and the test came back free of issues. Please let me know if I need to include anymore information that may assist. Below is a log of the latest panic: panic(cpu 1 caller 0x001A49CB): Unresolved kernel trap (CPU 1, Type 14=page fault), registers: CR0: 0x8001003b, CR2: 0x4f0fe38e, CR3: 0x0123f000, CR4: 0x000006e0 EAX: 0xbeef7201, EBX: 0x0013999b, ECX: 0x00000585, EDX: 0x4f0fe000 CR2: 0x4f0fe38e, EBP: 0x25a4bb58, ESI: 0x04620000, EDI: 0xbeef7201 EFL: 0x00010206, EIP: 0x0090057a, CS: 0x00000008, DS: 0x00000010 Backtrace, Format - Frame : Return Address (4 potential args on stack) 0x25a4b908 : 0x128d0d (0x3cc65c 0x25a4b92c 0x131f95 0x0) 0x25a4b948 : 0x1a49cb (0x3d2a94 0x1 0xe 0x3d22b8) 0x25a4ba58 : 0x19b3a4 (0x25a4ba70 0x0 0x3 0x7029) 0x25a4bb58 : 0x90068e (0x4620000 0xbeef7201 0x0 0x0) 0x25a4bb78 : 0x9006ec (0x4620000 0xbeef7201 0x1 0x4620000) 0x25a4bbb8 : 0x8fa016 (0x4620000 0x479d000 0x2faa9080 0xa17080) 0x25a4bc48 : 0x8e4857 (0x479d000 0x4888a00 0x1074a000 0x0) 0x25a4bcf8 : 0x3b19b9 (0x479d000 0x1 0x25a4bd2c 0x25a4bd28) 0x25a4bd38 : 0x3b4e75 (0x479d000 0x1 0x3ff1010 0x1) 0x25a4bd68 : 0x189fdc (0x479d000 0x1 0x3ff1010 0x4c23dc0) 0x25a4bdb8 : 0x12b4ee (0x4c23d8c 0x40d2da0 0x25a4bdf8 0x11e042) 0x25a4bdf8 : 0x124b17 (0x4c23d00 0x3fbd5a8 0x470752c 0x0) 0x25a4bf08 : 0x195f2e (0x25a4bf44 0x0 0x0 0x0) 0x25a4bfc8 : 0x19b81e (0x46d85a0 0x1 0x10 0x46d85a0) No mapping exists for frame pointer Backtrace terminated-invalid frame pointer 0xbfffed58 Kernel loadable modules in backtrace (with dependencies): com.apple.GeForce(4.5.6)@0x8d1000 dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOPCIFamily(2.2)@0x5bb000 dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOGraphicsFamily(1.4.8)@0x6ab000 dependency: com.apple.iokit.IONDRVSupport(1.4.8)@0x6c6000 dependency: com.apple.NVDAResman(4.5.6)@0x6d5000 Kernel version: Darwin Kernel Version 8.11.1: Wed Oct 10 18:23:28 PDT 2007; root:xnu-792.25.20~1/RELEASE_I386
