I'm running the latest OS X on my MacBook Pro. Is there a free, secure DICOM reader I can download to read these files?

Yes there is; but may I ask what form the DICOM images refer to? Are they medical images - eg - CT Scan, MRI scan? Or are we talking about something else?

I ask because the answer depends on that. Let's assume it is medical.
