iPhone quick shutoff

I use my iPhone for up to 1 hr at bedtime; typically at 10pm and again at 6 am for local news found on a radio station that I have preset on the homepage. Unfortunately it cuts out after a few minutes (not at night, only in the am) and continues to do this until I am fed up. I do have it set on a focus mode from 10pm-7am to avoid nuisance notifications. Battery is always fine. Usually 60% or better. Any idea what is going on.

What does "cuts out" mean? Under Settings->Display & Brightness, what is the auto-lock value set to?

Cuts out is another way of saying stops or shuts down. which is what I should have said. Anyway it was my auto-lock causing the problem. Thanks for taking the time to respond.

Just to be clear, the auto-lock causes the screen to turn off and the CPU to go into sleep mode. "shut down" is a very specific state and this isn't it.
