I reset my NVRAM/PRAM, and then tried my external again. I got the same exact response as before. (Just to make sure when resetting the NVRAM/PRAM it is suppose to make the entire noise twice, the sort of Mac Gong sound? If so I did it correctly and it had no effect). So I retried the Disk Utility step for a search to see maybe I might have missed something and again I found no RAID set anywhere. I continued with the disk utility idea by going over and doing each of the four options of the first aid section. Disk Verify & Disk Repair went off with out a hitch and were completed with no warnings or issues. Then I clicked Verify Disk Permissions, and this is what came up as the only issue: "Warning:SUID file "System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/MacOS/ARDAgent" has been modified and will not be repaired." I made sure to write down the wording exactly in order to report my findings back. Then as if I did not know the out come all ready I clicked the Repair Disk Permissions button. Surprise, It repeated the above message and said everything else was completely fine. I verified and repaired disk on the seagate usb cable attached TB external hard drive, or really verified and repaired my TB drive that had no issues already, but I wanted to cover all my bases just in case. I restarted into my Mac and tried my malfunctioning external again. No change and I had to force shut down like before. I restart with out the external plugged in and using a combination of MacExplorer and MacPilot programs I located the trouble file. I copied the information of the file and here it is: Alias File: No App is Scriptable: No App Prefers Classic: No App Prefers Native: No Application: No Classic App: No Container: No Darwin BSD Major: 14 Darwin BSD Minor: 0 Darwin BSD Name: disk0 Darwin BSD Unit: 0 Darwin Content: GUID_partition_scheme Darwin Content Hint: Darwin Ejectable: No Darwin IOBusyInterest: IOCommand is not serializable Darwin IOGeneralInterest: IOCommand is not serializable Darwin IOMediaIcon: {CFDictionary} Darwin Leaf: No Darwin Media Class: IOMedia Darwin Open: Yes Darwin Preferred Block Size: 512 Darwin Removable: No Darwin Size: 320,072,933,376 Darwin Volume Name: disk0s2 Darwin Whole: Yes Darwin Writable: Yes Ejectable: No Extension: Icon Filename: Invisible: No Native App: No On Remote Volume: No Package: No Path: Absolute: Macintosh HD:System:Library:CoreServices:RemoteManagement:ARDAgent.app:Contents:MacOS:ARDAgent Path: Shell: /System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/MacOS/ARDAgent Path: UNIX: /System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/MacOS/ARDAgent Plain File: Yes Readable: Yes Symbolic Link: No Volume: No Writable: No I hope this helps anyone reading this to get a better idea of why I can not delete my misadventures into RAID and inevitably help me find away to undo all this and allow me to use my external hard drive again. Thank you in advanced to all those who help and all those who have all ready taken time to help me.
