Just got a new MacBook Pro for work and a friend gifted me an older (but perfect condition) Retina display. The display has a connection cord with 2 connectors that look like a MagSafe and a Thunderbolt 2, but I’m not sure. Any advice on an adapter I can get to connect the display to the laptop?

The old display was called Apple Cinema and has a DisplayPort connector.

Not sure what "new MacBook pro" means, since it could be new to you or new-new. If it's the latest gen MBP with the TB/USB-C ports, you'll need a USB-C to DP cable/adapter.
