i never wipe my phone with anything usually. not even with microfiber cloth. i just rinse it with water real quick and wipe some of the water off with my hands and let it air dry..have had mine since launch day and been fully naked and still no major scratches, only little tiny micro scratches on the stainless steel but its expected and its not a bother... soo im curious, how do you guys keep yours clean? and how do you clean it? do you think wiping with any kind of cloth will scratch it?

Don't have the X but I always use a cover, front and back, which ia a shame as I have the red iPhone 7 which is so tactile. Think a damp cloth is what is advised.

Hi Eriac - welcome to the forum - I would strongly discourage you from 'rinsing' you iDevice w/ water - quoted below is Apple's advice (KB Article); for myself, I use micro-fiber cloths which I may dampen slightly w/ a little water - my iPhone has a front & back protective covering; my iPad a smart cover. For my larger computer monitors (and my iPad Pro), I've been using the product shown below, which is mainly water - spray a small amount on the provided cloth and wipe the dust off easily. Dave

I agree with Dave. Water and iPhones don't go well together.

Well they are waterproof and rated to IP67 under IEC standard 60529, so how about this guys dishwasher method? No scratchy cleaning cloths needed!! ;-)

@RadDave I bought that product a bit ago for the first time because I couldn't find the product i used to use (iKlear). Maybe I guessed correctly for a change.

Phones need cleaning?

Though, I admit, per Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, unsanitized phone handsets lead to the collapse of a civilization.

Seriously, I try not to drop my iPhone 7 Plus in the mud, and (very) occasionally wipe spots with an eyeglass cleaner wipe, or damp tissue. Both of us seem to have survived thus far

Hey Sly - believe I bought that cleaner after reading a review in one of my Zinio app computer mags - just use in on my 'larger screens' - cannot remember which mag the review appeared, but here is a LINK to a recent comparison of 'screen cleaners - 'Screen Mom' comes out near the top. Dave
