Hi, I am applying for a job that requires familiarity with large databases and SQL database queries. Since I have never used SQL, I would like to learn how to use it. I am trying to set it up on my Mac and I am failing. I have spent many hours trying everything and nothing seems to be working. I find that SQL is very confusing -- I don't really know the difference between MySQL and ODBC drivers and what not. I know that I already have Microsoft Query installed on my computer, and I tried installing MySQL but I'm totally stuck. (I managed to get MySQL installed in the system preferences but nothing happens when I click "start MySQL server.") Could somebody please let me know what to do? It can't be *that* hard, can it? Thank you very much in advance.
