Hi Sierra on iMac

I have a new 2017 Apple iMac 27" Retina 5K Display, Intel Core i5, 8GB RAM, 1TB Fusion, Radeon Pro 570. It is running MacOS Sierra 10.12.6. I am continually being prompted to upgrade to High Sierra. However, I have read somewhere that High Sierra doesn't work well with Fusion drives. Am I correct? If so, how can I stop getting the prompts to upgrade? TIA

High Sierra will work with fusion drives, but it will NOT reformat them to APFS in the process. It's not that HS doesn't work with Fusion as much as it is that Apple hasn't figured out how to get APFS to work with Fusion drives. APFS is optimized for SSDs, so the installer currently does reformat SSDs to APFS, but not spinner hard drives or fusion drives (which are a hybrid of SSD and spinner).

So, the easiest way to get rid of the prompts is to upgrade.

There are, however, ways to make the prompt stop, but I don't know them personally. Maybe someone will chime in here.

I agree with Jake. Go ahead and install High Sierra as there is no problem with your Fusion drive as has been pointed out. You do not want to let your 2017 iMac get behind in updates especially since High Sierra includes new security fixes that you should definitely have. The next update of macOS will support APFS for Fusion drives but that won't happen until later this year.
