I see that my "Pictures" File contains 26 GB according to the "Pictures Info". Are these pictures also affiliated with the "Photos" application or are they separate and can they be deleted without affecting the pictures in the "Photos" application?

I have looked at all my files, movies and in my picture files. As I said prviously i found a lot which I transferred to an external drive. Then deleted them on my main hard drive. I gained almost 20 gig of space. Yes I had rented some movies and bought some movies through iTunes. I cant see them in my account any were. I have to say I am not desperate for space as my HD has 645 gig free space. I just wanted to know were all these movies are.
