WELCOME TO THE FORUMS ok, first off, tiger wont install on the G3's as far as i know. Youll need osx.2. osx.3 might work on the yosemite Second of all, your drives are from old dells, theyre going to have a filesystem mac os cant work with. Taking the drive from the beige and putting it in the BW isnt going to work either because OS8.6 is configured for the beige not the BW. why ubuntu wont work is beyond me, but ive alwawys had a severe hate for that distro. its NEVER worked right for me. I had this issue once, zap the pram a few times. get ahold of osx.2, hold C while booting, and it will boot from CD. Tiger as far as i k now willnot work on either of your machines. So i think osx.4 is your problem at the moment. Oh, most dell harddrives are locked with some FUNKY partition table. 40mb for boot, another partition for space, a 3rd for restore. we've tried to play with em, but theres lik no deleting either
