[QUOTE="Blitzman, post: 1694045, member: 367120"] Hiya and Thanks for the replies. Yeah it is an odd sounding name, Acronis LOL. It sounds Greek but I had found no meaning anywhere off hand. Yeah I do not plan on spending any much more on this thing and definitely not close to $100 for a solution Chas. ;) good old eBay and a bit of patience can get ya what ya need cheaper. Got the OS for like $14.00 or something like that. I already had the memory sticks and drive laying around from older stuff. Harry Thanks but I don't know how you can say those you mentioned can be better than Acronis if you have to do one partition at a time(I thought I explained in extreme detail so I would not get the same answers everyone else got for the last 7+ years and just seemed to give up so easily and go with Apple's included Disk Image on an extra drive LOL, waste of a drive, at least the ones I have extra for things like that). I have a 1TB, 1.5TB, and a 2TB drive for my computer backup images for mine and many I have worked on. I have built PC's since a bit after IBM released the AT286 LOL and have many years of peoples whole drive backed up to images(since about the time XP came out, (lost things before then in a fire) so if they come to me with their system totally hosed and or dead drive I fire up Acronis and Bam the unit is right back to where it was when I sent it out, not a bit of data lost, gets all partitions even linux and its bootloader, the MBR and bootsector stored in one nice compressed file(depending if you choose compression and what level). A blank drive can in about 12 minutes+(depending on the data they had and speed of their computer) be just as I sent it out to them. Is there nothing for such a tight niched machine as the PowerPC Mac that can do that? - Hard to believe given that they did not have to support an ever changing myrad of 3rd party hardware, only what they thought you should have, until after PowerPC was dead. I could maybe try as last resort, if there is a way to like zero out all the unused space and try a compressed Sector-by-Sector full backup with Acronis, waste of a lot of space but if unused area can contain one same character it will compress way down. well enuff blah blah LOL. Take care and Thanks for any info, even if it is that without a doubt there is just no way to do it on this machine like that, as long as you are absolutely sure you are correct. Then I will waste no more time and just wing it on setting this up and hope I don't have to keep doing things over and over from the start after all the trouble cuz one little thing freaks it out into Lala Land. ;) PEACE!
