okay, so i have iLife 05 and a G3 Tower running Panther (well, about to) and i have enough gigs for it. Its just iLife 05 "requires at least 400 mhz to run and 600 for Garageband" but this machine only has 350. i was just wondering if it really NEEDS 400, or whether 350 will just make it slower. if thats the case, i'll live. Otherwise, I'll have to bump it up somehow. Thanks for any answers, suggestions, tests or links!!!

graphics card

a better graphics card may give some help. Did you mention in another post that you had another one, possibly an ATI rage 128? You may want to hook it up and see what the differences in system profiler are, I know when I checked the ATY, it was about 4 times better than the one I had been using.
