[QUOTE="xdunlapx, post: 1525980, member: 261057"] I am trying to partition 50GB of my Macintosh HD for use with Linux. All I did was open Disk Utility, choose my HD, click partition on the tab on the right, click the plus sign, resize it to 50 GB and then click apply. It appears to work fine but when it actually partitions it (when it is finished with the process) the partion is not 50GB it's 1/2 of my HDD space. I don't know if there is something I am doing wrong... I'm really confused by this and it will not allow me to resize it back down to 50GB. I have to delete the partition which merges the 2 partitions back into one and then I can re-do the part. but it still only ever gives me 1/2 of my HD space. Total SSD space is 256GB and it makes the original Macintosh HD 121GB even and the new partition 129.01 GB. ARGH! If I hit the Burn button will it actually partition it to those dimensions or will it do what I originally asked of it?! Please, if anybody can help me, please step forward. Thank you.
