I had been noticing for about a week that my computer was starting to get a little too hot and lagged rarely for brief seconds. I did some research and found out my kernal_task was taking up a lot of RAM, so I promised myself when I get home in a month I'd upgrade it with what I could. However, the real issue started about two days ago. Everything has basically come to a standstill. It takes about 5 minutes to start up my computer, everything lags or freezes and crashes. It froze 10 times in my writing a 4-lined email which my computer then proceeded to send out each time it froze, so the poor receiver got a new piece of e-mail every 10 seconds. It only froze for about 20 seconds, then loosened up. Now, everything freezes and I have to make a hard reboot (been done about 5 times today and it's only 1.00pm). I have used MacKeeper to clean everything out, I removed Microsoft Office, Steam, Firefox and whatever else I could that seemed to be having issues thru AppCleaner and STILL I am astonished I could open Safari to communicate my issue to the world because none of those steps helped anything! I don't have access to a Genius Bar so I can't take it in right now and I'm absolutely at my wits end and desperate for help. I have a big deadline for a design collection due in a week and I can barely open Illustrator. ANY advice is appreciated. :Grimmace: Macbook Pro OS X 10.6.8 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Due 4GB 1067 MHz DDR3
