"No audio editing software" - what the #@$% are you talking about? GarageBand is on there. It is a ridiculously well equipped audio editing program. Open GB - drag the file from finder into GB... select the track. click the scissors looking button at the bottom of the interface. This will open up an editing part along the bottom. Select the track that you have dragged the MP3 into. In that new editing section, select (by clicking and dragging) the audio that represents the silence you want to get rid of (should be the part with no wave shapes). Hit delete. Then scroll to the end of the track in the main part of GB. Along the top of the interface (all of GB, not just the editing section), drag the purple triangle to the spot where your audio track ends. Go to "share" along the menu bar. Click export to itunes. Voila. PS - if you have any doubt as to the capacity of GB to edit audio in a professional manner, check out Darkest Ritual - ReverbNation - that's all done in GB by me.
