HI, I have a macbook pro 13" from mid 2009 running mountain lion. I bought a Belkin mini display to HDMI cable to connect the computer directly to my HD TV which is a Panasonic Viera TX L37D25B HDTV. It doesnt have any adaptors. One end plugs into the mini display port, the other end plugs into the HDMI socket on the tv. When I plug it in the screen on the macbook screen flashes blue and then the desktop returns but the screen on the tv is blank. I have looked in system preferences, and there is nothing in the display window. There is no detect display option. I have looked through the tv manual and cant find an explanation or how to make this work. I previously tried to do this with a cheaper cable bought from Amazon and it failed so I assumed it was a faulty cable, hence buying the more expensive one from the Apple store. I would appreciate any help anyone can offer.
